Big Switch

       As I began to move forward with the production of my magazine, I felt like I was about to put myself into an extremely difficult task because if I was going to do Latin American Music, it would be extremely difficult to make my magazine completely unique, especially the pictures as I was not going to be able to get any famous Latin American artists and that was the main focus of Latin American music magazines. Following this I quickly began researching into luxury/high-end fashion magazines. I found a quick interest in this and began my research. Here are some of the magazines that i'd like to base my magazine cover image on:



      I found that many of these magazines do indeed use celebrities for the cover images of their magazines, but I decided that if I used the appropriate aged male, and the right outfit, I could pull of an excellent cover magazine which would focus on what really matters, the fashion item. With this said I will quickly work on catching up with my research so I do not fall behind, although I decided to switch my genre so late.

Feedback session #2

Today in class we had the final feedback discussion  before the due date of the project. I gained reassurance from it because I felt like I was extremely behind but it turns out I just need to catch up on shooting my pictures. I was having trouble thinking of a background to use for my cover image, and where I wanted to take it. My group brought up some examples of other magazines and presented them to me, and I decided that my background should be plain, but with a glossy touch. Colors like white, grey, and black are all good colors to use, depending on the color of what the model will be wearing. I also asked more about the double page spread and what I should talk about. I stated my idea that I mentioned in a blog post and the group liked it but they also gave me the idea of doing the article on a certain season. For example, “How to dress for the summer” which is not a bad idea, but I feel like it wouldn’t apply to my genre, but I am going to keep it in consideration.

Pictures

Today I finally got to shoot my images. For my cover page I stuck to the glossy background with the model at the center of the page. As my article for my double page spread is about the fashion along the summer season, I decided to take my images for the double page spread outside in a sunny, summer-like environment: With the pictures finalized I can finally finish putting my magazine together, and continue with the completion of the content of my double page spread as well as my table of contents.
